Stan Abrahamsen, Vector Maritime Group
Stan Abrahamsen is a graduate of the SUNY Maritime College at Ft Schuyler with a degree in Marine Engineering and currently holds a 2nd Assistant Engineer - steam or gas turbine vessels of any horsepower USCG license and 3rd Assistant Engineer - motor vessels of any horsepowerUSCG license as well as a 100-ton Near Coastal (Steam, Motor and Sail) USCG License. Stan's experience ranges from serving oncontainer ships, General Cargo Ships, Bulk and Heavy Lift Ships and Tankers to commercial passenger ferries. Stan was also a Lieutenant in the US Navy.
Stan was the Vice President of Operations for SeaTrain Lines of California overseeing a fleet of 12 vessels trading in the Pacific. For SeaTrain he was also the Terminal Manager at the Oakland terminal and the Stevedore Supervisor at the Honolulu Terminal.
Stan worked for James & Wetmore, Inc out of Long Beach, CA as their Chief Marine Surveyor and represented the following Classification Societies for all California ports: GL, NKK, RINA, KR and the Bahamas Ministry of Transportation. Stan went on to start his own surveying company and also represented the Panamanian Classification Society, the Malta Flag State, cargo and ship owners, P & I Clubs and underwriters. He was the Chief Designer Consultant for design and construction of two submersible barges for George P Johnson Company and performed surveys in accordance to and with the USCG Inspections Department.
Stan is an avid sailor and has also competed nationally in rodeos as a team roper, header position. He owns the Anchor S Ranch and raises Quarter Horses.
Stan enjoys visiting his family's farmhouse in Norway for vacations.
